On the afternoon of Saturday, April 23, 2016, a Colombian columnist and her Mexican colleague put out a call on Twitter for women to post about their first time being sexually harassed. The hashtag, #miprimeracoso, or #myfirstharassment, took off and was used over 100,000 times on social media. This work uses a selection of the original tweets in which women shared their harassment stories and presents them in a video, which is projected to the audience during the performance of the work. The video with the tweets also acts as a video-score for the performers, allowing them to react to the stories freely.
This revised and extended version of #Taboo was created for the 2025 edition of FemFest at WORM, Rotterdam.
